Spring has sprung, and summer is just round the corner…how do I know?  Because the rain is pouring, there is frost on the car in the morning and the chill wind is bitter when the sun disappears.  You’ve got to love the British weather…

Yesterday was a short sleeve shirt day – the sun was on my back and everyone was cheerful – I even got offered drinks from a number of customers… today is pneumonia weather – cold incessant drizzle.  Am I deterred??  Not at all.

One of the joys of now being in the world of self employment is that each day is a challenge – but it is my challenge and my effort that determine my success – and that is a great feeling.

So if you see me looking miserable in the rain, don’t worry too much – inside I am happy…its just that rain running off your nose always makes me look less than joyful.  But a kind word and a cup of something hot is always appreciated…

So with wet weather gear on, a smile (of sorts) on my face and the knowledge that it can’t rain forever, I look forward to whatever the day throws at me.  And as that illustrious explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, reminds us… ‘there is no such thing as bad weather…just inappropriate clothing’.
